Linda Nanos graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in 1980 and has been a practicing attorney in Nassau County, New York since 1981. Currently she has a multi-lingual (English, Spanish, Italian, Hungarian) law practice in Hempstead, New York, devoted to handling immigration matters for foreign nationals from six continents. Linda is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Nassau County Bar Association (NCBA). At the NCBA, she has been a Director on the Board of Directors, member of the Grievance Committee, Chair of the Bridge Over Language Divides (BOLD) Program, and former Chair of the Immigration Law Committee. She has taught Immigration Law at Nassau Community College. In 2010, she won the NCBA President’s award for her dedicated service. She has lectured for the Academy of Law and contributed articles to the publication, Nassau Lawyer. Linda was honored in 2008 for her contribution to the Hispanic Community at the 25th anniversary dinner of the Central American Refugee Center (CARECEN). Linda has worked tirelessly for the betterment of immigrants in the United States.
Lisa A. Gomez is a partner at Nanos, Gomez & Associates. She joined the firm in 2017. She received her Associate's Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, her Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Old Westbury and her Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law. While enrolled at Hofstra University School of Law, she participated in the Youth Advocacy Clinic, assisting clients in Special Immigrant Juvenile Status and family law issues. In 2015, she was rewarded the Jonathan Roppolo Memorial Award due to her outstanding work the year she participated at the clinic. Lisa is a first-generation American from Colombian parents and is fluent in Spanish.
Lisa has always been devoted to helping her clients. Prior to joining the Firm, Lisa worked in Real Estate for several years, where she handled short sales and loan modifications to achieve her clients with a continuing home.
Lisa is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. Lisa is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Association of Deportation Defense Attorneys.
Peter Vekiarelis is an associate attorney who joined Nanos, Gomez & Associates, P.C. in 2021. Peter was born and raised in Corona, Queens. Peter is a proud product of the New York City public school system -having attended Forest Hills High School and Queens College-his fascination with civic engagement and community empowerment comes naturally. At Queens College, he majored in Political Science and graduated cum laude. He received his Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law in 2015.
Prior to joining the Firm, Peter was an associate at one of New York’s top Wall Street Law Firms where he represented injured or ill workers before the Workers' Compensation Board and ensured that they received all the benefits they are entitled to under the law, including wage loss benefits and appropriate medical treatment.
As the child of immigrants from Greece and the Dominican Republic, he understands the struggles and needs of the hardworking and vibrant immigrant community. Peter is fluent in Spanish and Greek.
Peter is admitted to the New York State Bar. He is a member of the Queens County Bar Association and Nassau County Bar Association.
Claudia Gigler is an associate attorney who joined Nanos, Gomez & Associates, P.C. in 2012. She received her undergraduate degree from New York University in 2001 and her Juris Doctorate from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2005. Prior to joining the Firm, Claudia was an associate at a large immigration firm in New York, NY for three years where she handled a high volume case load, focusing on deportation and removal defense, asylum, family and employment-based petitions, adjustment of status, and citizenship. Claudia has successfully represented clients before immigration judges with the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Claudia is a first-generation American from Peruvian and Hungarian parents and is fluent in Spanish and Hungarian. She also lived abroad in Italy and speaks Italian.
Claudia is admitted to the New York State Bar. She is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and the Association of Deportation Defense Attorneys.
Born in Lima, Peru, Tania was raised in Peru and the U.S. She graduated from SUNY Farmingdale with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She is also a graduate from Nassau Community College with a degree in Paralegal Studies. Tania started with our firm as an intern and joined our staff permanently as a bilingual paralegal in 1995. She works with the attorneys to prepare and submit applications to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Tania is fluent in English and Spanish. She is also a New York State Notary Public.
Born in the Dominican Republic, Stephanie migrated to the U.S. at the age of five. She graduated from Nassau Community College with an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies. She is also a graduate from St. Johns University with a Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security. Stephanie started with our firm as an intern and joined our staff permanently as a bilingual paralegal in 2013.
She has over six years of immigration experience and over ten years in the legal field. She works with the attorneys to prepare and submit applications to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Stephanie enjoys her job as a paralegal and l helping those in need. There is no greater satisfaction than seeing how many lives we have changed throughout the years. Stephanie is fluent in English and Spanish.
Born in El Salvador, Stefany was raised in the U.S. She graduated from Briarcliffe College with a Bachelor's degree in accounting. She is also a graduate from Nassau Community College with a degree in Paralegal Studies. Stefany started with our firm as a receptionist in 2013 and later became a bilingual paralegal. She works with the attorneys to prepare and submit applications to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Stefany is fluent in English and Spanish.
Yoselyn is a paralegal who joined Nanos, Gomez & Associates, P.C. in 2022. She was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia. Yoselyn immigrated to the United States at the age of nine. She graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Yoselyn works with the attorneys to prepare and submit applications to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
Yoselyn is fluent in English and Spanish. She is also a New York State Notary Public.
Born and raised in New York, proud daughter of immigrant parents from Colombia and fluent in English, Spanish and Italian. Vanessa obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Farmingdale State College in 2015, and then attended New York University obtaining a degree in 2019. Her passion in helping others, being a team leader and offering guidance and support makes her the perfect addition to our team as the office manager.
Not only is Vanessa excellent at mastering all administrative duties, she is also always eager to learn about Immigration Law and all of its ongoing changes that continue to change lives on a daily basis.
Vanessa is a very trust-worthy individual and is always available to answer any questions and/or address any concerns anyone may have.
