Linda G. Nanos, Esq.

 Linda Nanos graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in 1980 and has been a practicing attorney in Nassau County, New York since 1981. Currently she has a multi-lingual (English, Spanish, Italian, Hungarian) law practice in Hempstead, New York, devoted to handling immigration matters for foreign nationals from six continents. Linda is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Nassau County Bar Association (NCBA). At the NCBA, she has been a Director on the Board of Directors, member of the Grievance Committee, Chair of the Bridge Over Language Divides (BOLD) Program, and former Chair of the Immigration Law Committee. She has taught Immigration Law at Nassau Community College. In 2010, she won the NCBA President’s award for her dedicated service. She has lectured for the Academy of Law and contributed articles to the publication, Nassau Lawyer.  Linda was honored in 2008 for her contribution to the Hispanic Community at the 25th anniversary dinner of the Central American Refugee Center (CARECEN).  Linda has worked tirelessly for the betterment of immigrants in the United States.  

Claudia Gigler, Esq.

 Claudia Gigler is an associate attorney who joined Linda G. Nanos, P.C. in  2012. She received her undergraduate degree from New York University in 2001 and her Juris Doctorate from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2005.  Prior to joining the Firm, Claudia was an associate at a large immigration firm in New York, NY for three years where she handled a high volume case load, focusing on deportation and removal defense, asylum, family and employment-based petitions, adjustment of status, and citizenship. Claudia has successfully represented clients before immigration judges with the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.  Claudia is a first-generation American from Peruvian and Hungarian parents and is fluent in Spanish and Hungarian.  She also lived abroad in Italy and speaks Italian.

 Claudia is admitted to the New York State Bar.  She is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and the  Association of Deportation Defense Attorneys.

Lisa A. Gomez, Esq.

Lisa A. Gomez is an associate attorney who joined Linda G. Nanos, P.C. in 2017.  She received her Associate's Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, her Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Old Westbury and her Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law. While enrolled at Hofstra University School of Law,  she participated in the Youth Advocacy Clinic, assisting clients in Special Immigrant Juvenile Status and family law issues.  In 2015, she was rewarded the Jonathan Roppolo Memorial Award due to her outstanding work the year she participated at the clinic.  Lisa is a first-generation American from Colombian parents and is fluent in Spanish. 

  Lisa has always been devoted to helping her clients.  Prior to joining the Firm, Lisa worked in Real Estate for several years, where she handled short sales and loan modifications to achieve her clients with a continuing home.  

Lisa is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. Lisa is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the  Association of Deportation Defense Attorneys. 


Paralegals

Norma I. Sanchez

Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Norma was raised in Puerto Rico and the U.S.  She graduated from the University of Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico with a Bachelor's degree in Education. She is also a graduate from Adelphi University with a degree in Paralegal Studies.

Norma worked as an English teacher in Puerto Rico and Rhode Island. Later she moved to New York and worked as a translator and proof-reader until she found her true calling working as a bilingual paralegal with the firm since 1983. She works with the attorneys to prepare and submit applications to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Norma is fluent in English and Spanish. She is also a New York State Notary Public. 

Tania O'Brien

 Born in Lima, Peru, Tania was raised in Peru and the U.S. She graduated from SUNY Farmingdale with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She is also graduate from Nassau Community College with a degree in Paralegal Studies. Tania started with our firm as an intern and joined our staff permanently as a bilingual paralegal in 1995. She works with the attorneys to prepare and submit applications to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Tania is fluent in English and Spanish. She is also a New York State Notary Public. 

Sofia Steinbuch

Born in Quito, Ecuador, Sofia was raised in Ecuador and the U.S. She graduated from Nassau Community College with a degree in Paralegal Studies. She is currently attending Adelphi University pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Translation Studies. Sofia has helped many immigrants, just like herself, gain their residence and citizenship in the United States. She joined the firm as a bilingual paralegal in 1998. She works with the attorneys to prepare and submit applications to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Sofia is fluent in English and Spanish. She is also a New York State Notary Public.
 


Stephanie Nunez

 Born in the Dominican Republic, Stephanie migrated to the U.S. at the age of five. She graduated from Nassau Community College with an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies. She is also a graduate from St. Johns University with a Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security. Stephanie started with our firm as an intern and joined our staff permanently as a bilingual paralegal in 2013. 

She has over six years of immigration experience and over ten years in the legal field. She works with the attorneys to prepare and submit applications to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review.  Stephanie enjoys her job as a paralegal because we are helping those in need.  There is no greater satisfaction than seeing how many lives we have changed throughout the years.  Stephanie is fluent in English and Spanish.

Stefany MARTE

Born in El Salvador, Stefany was raised in the U.S. She graduated from Briarcliffe College with a Bachelor's degree in accounting. She is also a graduate from Nassau Community College with a degree in Paralegal Studies. Stefany started with our firm as a receptionist in 2013 and later became a bilingual paralegal. She works with the attorneys to prepare and submit applications to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Stefany is fluent in English and Spanish.

Meibel Martinez

Born and raised in El Salvador, Meibel migrated to the U.S. in 2016. She graduated from Escuela Superior de Economia y Negocios and worked as an attorney and notary in her country. She is also a graduate from Nassau Community College with a degree in Paralegal Studies. She is member of the paralegal honor society Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX) and the student honor society Phi Theta Kappa.  She works with the attorneys to prepare and submit applications to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Her experience includes working as Plaintiff Personal Injury Paralegal. Meibel is fluent in English and Spanish and is also a Spanish Instructor at the Language Center of NCC. She is also a New York State Notary Public.

Alma Monroy

 Born in Colombia.  She possesses a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and graduate study in Finance, both degrees from Los Andes University in Bogota, Colombia.  She is also a graduate from Nassau Community College with a degree in Accounting. She joined the firm in 2008. Alma is responsible of our finances and carefully keeps the record of each client account, and is available to resolve any account question.  She is also responsible for the improvement of the administrative forms and procedures. She is fluent in English and Spanish. 

Patricia Aguilar

 Born and raised in the U.S., Patricia is a first generation American from Salvadoran parents. She joined the firm as a receptionist in 2017. She is fluent in English and Spanish.  

Vanessa Gonzalez

  Born and raised in the U.S., Vanessa is a  first generation American from Mexican and Salvadoran parents. She joined the firm as a file clerk in 2017. She is currently pursuing a Criminal Justice Degree at Nassau Community College.

She is fluent in Spanish, English and studying American Sign Language.
